A serial entrepreneur, Michael Nicklin initially engaged the services of grapevine pr in Spring 2012 to offer PR strategy and branding consulting, then execute media outreach for Nicklin’s personal brand as an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
After carrying out the successful launch of the branding phase and PR implementation, as Nicklin engaged with his roster of business strategy clients – consisting primarily of small-to-medium businesses – when seeing a need for dedicated PR services, grapevine became his preferred resource recommended to them. Our roster subsequently grew, as we went on to represent several of Mr. Nicklin’s past strategy and management clients.
In Nicklin’s second-phase of brand growth, while managing the careers of a small number of actors, Nicklin decided to leverage his expertise as a former talent manager, and create a Talent Management brand to grow the client roster. We mobilized immediately to design and implement a comprehensive launch strategy that included discovery and clarification of business goals, positioning and brand messaging development, brand identity consulting, and the strategy and execution of media outreach, both in helping to introduce the brand identity and develop Nicklin’s role as a thought leader within the industry, consisting of interviews in print and digital publications and on radio and podcast episodes. All of this helped to rapidly create a foundation of brand recognition for Vortexian Talent Management (VTM), which helped grow the VTM roster. Once the brand launched, grapevine became the firm of record for all members of the roster to be “at the ready” when any PR opportunities arose for individual talent.
In one case, we devised a comprehensive brand awareness strategy for a VTM client and grapevine pr was retained for a six-month implementation period.
As a participatory philanthropist, Nicklin has and continues to be involved with several non-profits, providing his time and resources as well as serving as a board member for some of the organizations. grapevine has helped to highlight Nicklin’s involvement and through those introductions, grapevine’s founder Steven Le Vine has gone on to serve in both PR and volunteer capacities for those organizations.
In the Spring of 2015, Nicklin held his portfolio branding and strategy summit on Maui, and invited Le Vine to provide both thought leadership and strategic planning. Le Vine was invited to return to Maui in Spring 2016 to support the development of Nicklin’s next brand enterprise.
